On Wednesday, March 14, 2007, the Property Owners Association will offer "Bed Bugs Uncovered-The Truth, The Myth and Your Liability," presented by Timothy Wenk, Esq. of the New York firm Shafer & Galzer LLP and Richard Cooper, Technical Director Entomologist of Cooper Pest Control based in Lawrenceville. The program will take place at The Wilshire Grand Hotel, 350 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The program is graciously sponsored by Rosen Affiliates in Trenton, NJ. Refreshments will be courtesy of LEW Corp based in Mountainside, NJ.
"As this issue becomes a growing concern for both multi-family owners and our tenants, we must stay vigilant in our education in order to better understand this enemy," states POA President, Chris O’Connor of Pinstripe Marketing. "As these pests become more prevelant we must know what our liability is and how to best combat them".
Timothy Wenk, Esq. of Shafer & Glazer, LLP will examine our liability as owners as well as some legislation that is applicable to this growing issue in multi-family ownership. Richard Cooper of Cooper Pest Control will focus on the entomology of bed bugs as well as the technical issues related to treating and preventing these pervasive pests. The description and habits of bed bugs will also be a topic of discussion in order to assist you better detection.
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a First Time Investors Seminar, to be followed at 7:00p.m. a brief business meeting. At 7:15 p.m. by the featured presentation will begin.
Attendance at this meeting is FREE for POA members, who are also encouraged to bring a guest with them at no charge. Super Stars are allowed to bring three non-members with them. Non-members can attend for a fee of $30, which is applicable to membership dues if they join within 30 days.
