On Wednesday, March 10th, the Property Owners Association will offer Bed Bugs, Creepy Crawlers, Oh My-Infestations-How to Cope. The program will take place at The Wilshire Grand Hotel, 350 Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange NJ beginning at 6:30p.m. and is sponsored by Cooper Pest Solutions and Chem Tec Pest Solutions.
Richard Cooper, Technical Director for Cooper Pest Solutions and Vice President of Bed Beg Central will discuss how bed bugs have emerged as one of the most important pests facing today's property owners and managers. Infestations of bed bugs range from the wealthy to the poor and transcend many market sectors including hospitality, multifamily, rental furniture, executive re-location, health care, etc. This pest which began its resurgence in the late 1990's has created pest management and legal issues that were unanticipated and has challenged the operating budgets of multifamily properties throughout the United States. This presentation will explore the most current information available on bed bugs and bed bug management for multifamily housing. Factors that drive up costs will be addressed and solutions to manage long-term costs while providing community-wide results will be discussed.
The evening will begin at 6:30p.m. with a First Time Investors Forum hosted by Mike Shulman of Rent-A-Room Properties. This will be followed by a brief business meeting at 7:00p.m. This will be followed by the popular Legal Forum during which attorneys from Brach Eichler as well as Levy, Ehrlich & Petriello will discuss recent case law as it relates to landlords and bed bugs. The featured presentation will begin at 7:45p.m.
