On Wednesday, June 6, 2012 the Property Owners Association will feature, “Landlord/Tenant Law with Special Focus on Section 8”. Learn how to minimize your liabilities and maximize your returns by laying the proper ground work when dealing with your tenancy matters, specifically, learning how to mitigate complex Section 8 issues relevant to your subsidized tenants. The program will take place at The Wilshire Grand Hotel, 350 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ, and begins at 6:30 p.m.
The program is graciously sponsored and presented by Ehrlich, Petriello, Gudin & Plaza P.C. of Newark. Refreshments will be courtesy of Foster & Mazzie LLC as well as Griffin Alexander P.C. Among some of the hot legal issues we will explore are the steps you must take before accepting a tenant, how to successfully process an eviction case, as well as the nuances of dealing with Section 8 tenants and the administrative agencies that oversee the programs. We will also discuss crucial clauses for your lease agreements and current issues in Landlord/Tenant law.
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the “Ask the Expert” panel of landlords followed by a brief business meeting. Attendance to this meeting is FREE for POA members, who are also encouraged to bring a guest with them at no charge. SuperStar members are welcomed to bring three non-members with them. Non-members can attend for a nominal $35 fee, applicable to membership dues if they join within 30 days.
