Dear Members,
It is with a heavy heart that we share an important update regarding the future of the Property Owners Association.
After extensive discussion and careful consideration, our Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to begin the process of dissolving the Association. This decision was not made lightly. Over the past several years, we have experienced a steady decline in membership, participation, sponsorship, and financial support. Despite exploring numerous options to sustain the organization, it has become clear that we cannot adequately fulfill our mission under its current state.
For more than five decades, the Property Owners Association has been proud to serve the rental housing community by providing education, advocacy, networking opportunities, and valuable industry resources. None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our members, volunteers, sponsors, speakers, and past board members. Your support has helped shape an organization that made a meaningful impact on countless housing providers and industry professionals throughout New Jersey.
While this chapter is coming to an end, we are incredibly grateful for the relationships we have built and the trust you have placed in us over the years. We sincerely thank each of you for being part of this journey.
Over the coming weeks, the Board will complete the Association’s formal wind-down process in accordance with our governing documents and applicable laws. We are not sure what the future holds but we want to provide you with resources in the meantime as you continue your professional journey. We encourage you to explore the many opportunities available through the New Jersey Apartment Association (NJAA), which has been a tremendous supporter of the POA and the multifamily housing industry throughout the years.
As the statewide organization representing New Jersey’s multifamily housing industry, NJAA (www.njaa.com) offers education and professional development, legislative and regulatory advocacy, networking opportunities, industry events, and access to valuable resources that help housing providers and industry partners stay informed and connected. We hope you will find continued support and a strong professional community through their organization as you move forward. The NJAA is also offering our members discounted rates on select educational programs, including Fair Housing training.
On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, thank you for your membership, your support, and your commitment to the Property Owners Association. It has truly been an honor to serve this community.
With sincere gratitude,
The Board of Directors
Property Owners Association
