January 11th “Fair Chance in Housing”

Join us as Jamie Borodin of National Tenant Network and Derek Reed, Esq. of Ehrlich Petriello Gudin Plaza & Reed present this information filled seminar focused on New Jersey’s newly enacted the “Fair Chance in Housing Act.”   The Fair Chance in Housing Act regulates how criminal history can be used in the resident selection process. This class will review the Fair Chance in Housing Act and provide suggestions for compliance.   This is a must for all involved in the leasing, resident selection and management.  With enforcement being stepped up it is vital that you are in compliance.

Giuseppe Pennetti of Maximum Fire Escapes will be assisting owners and managers with proposed regulations 2018 IFC Chapter 11 Fire Escape Code going into effect early spring of 2023.  This new code mandates all fire escapes staircase and balconies shall be examined for structural adequacy and safety in accordance with section IFC 1104.16.5 by a registered design professional every 5 years. An Inspection report shall be submitted to the fire code official after
such examination, for the state of NJ.
