Guidance on New Jersey’s Recently Announced Rental Assistance Program

On March 16, 2021, New Jersey announced a $353 million rental assistance program that is aimed at helping tenants and landlords. The program provides rental assistance to tenants with incomes of 80% of Area Median Income and below. As with many government programs there are requirements that must be met, as well as obligations and responsibilities for both landlords and tenants. This class will provide you with an overview of the program, requirements for both landlords and tenants, legal landmines, and how best to help your tenants to apply and utilize this much needed assistance.
