On Wednesday, October 10, 2012, Ed Tomkiewicz, Supervisor of Enforcement for the Bureau of Housing, Department of Community Affairs and Joseph Krajewski of the Lead Paint Hazard Unit will address members and guests of the POA. The program will take place at the Wilshire Grand in West Orange at 350 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ beginning at 6:30p.m. The program is graciously sponsored by L. Epstein Hardware Company and Reasonable Lock & Safe, Inc.
“We are so lucky to be able to hear from the DCA on an ongoing basis. This is one of our most popular meetings as it keeps the channels of communication and education open so that we can better understand the laws that govern our industry. It is always a pleasure to hear both Mr. Tomkiewicz and Mr. Krajewski speak to the group, with their working knowledge of the rules and processes it is a true nuts and bolts presentation, which is exactly what we need,” stated POA President Cindy Raskind of Danor Realty.
The presentation will address the 5-year inspection process which is administered by the Department of Community Affairs, as well as other integral issues property owners need to be aware of. Changes in requirements, what is involved in an inspection as well as the most common violations will be discussed.
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a First Time Investors Forum followed by a brief business meeting. At 7:15p.m. the Legal Forum hosted by of Ehrlich, Petriello, Gudin & Plaza will begin followed at 7:45p.m. by the featured presentation.
Attendance to this meeting is FREE for POA members, who are also encouraged to bring a guest with them at no charge. SuperStar members are welcomed to bring three non-members with them. Non-members can attend for a nominal $35 fee, applicable to membership dues if they join within 30 days.
