On Wednesday, November 12th the Property Owners Association will offer “Creepy Crawlers-Bed Bugs Revisited” presented by Timothy M. Wenk, Esq. of Shafer Glazer, LLP. The program will take place at The Wilshire Grand Hotel, 350 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ, and begin at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is sponsored by Builders Integrated Pest Management Co. Refreshments are courtesy of Stuyvesant Yale and RestoreCore.
Five years ago, a federal judge upheld a startling award of $382,000 to a brother and sister that were attacked by bed bugs in a Chicago hotel. Hear from an experienced attorney what plaintiffs are claiming in similar lawsuits, the effects that a bed bug infestation may have on landlord-tenant relationships, recent proposed legislation addressing the resurgence in bed bug related incidents, and much more. This presentation is one you cannot afford to miss as it will illustrate how not to be on the wrong end of a large sum verdict.
The evening will begin at 6:30pm with a First Time Investor Forum hosted by Mike Shulman of Rent-A-Room Properties. This will be followed by a brief business meeting at 7:00pm. The law firm of Levy, Ehrlich & Petriello will then host our legal forum beginning at 7:15 p.m. The featured presentation will begin at 7:45pm.
Attendance to this meeting is FREE to POA members. Non-members may attend for the nominal fee of $35, which can be applied to 2009 dues.
